JonJeffS wrote: OK, So I have been a bit hesitant to share any photos... when we bought our home it didn't have a garage, so I had the opportunity any man dreams of to design my own space. It's been over a 2 1/2 year process just to get to where I am am now, and I am still a bit embarrassed about my mess. But, well over a year ago I embarked on a project to fabricate my cabinets. I designed a metal framework that I will add wood panels, shelves and doors. It was my goal to practice and improve my welding skills. I am proud to state that I have completed all of the metal fabrication. My cabinets will have an 18' deep upper shelf for storing parts and bins. Now I have to decide if I should powder coat or paint...
Wow, those look great! I really like the idea of fabbing up your own frames to fit your space. I think I might do the same thing, rather than adding additional pre-made stuff that just doesn't fit right. Plus, YOU made it in the USA... and the materials probably were not any more expensive than a set of store bought overseas cabinets.
Are you going to skin them with wood or steel?
Very nice work, and inspiring! Thanks for sharing, keep us posted!

Just added a "new " toolbox to the garage. This is my father-in-law's old Matco and Snap-On combination set. It served him many years as a diesel truck mechanic and a farmer, then it did a stint in our shop, now it gets to go on light duty use in the home garage!
